Privacy Policy — White Noise Background Sounds

Last updated: July 1, 2026

White Noise Background Sounds ("the app") is operated by the independent developer doing business as objks ("we", "us"). The app is designed to respect your privacy: it does one thing — play background sounds that help you sleep — and collects as little as possible while doing it.

What we collect

Nothing personal, on our side. The app has no account system, no login, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, microphone input, or any behavioral tracking. All sounds are generated mathematically on your device; no audio is recorded and the microphone is never accessed.

Subscriptions and purchases

The app offers an auto-renewing subscription to unlock its features. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. To validate purchases and deliver the correct entitlement, we use RevenueCat, a subscription-infrastructure provider acting as our service provider.

When you subscribe or restore a purchase, RevenueCat and Apple process:

identity — we have no way to connect it to you personally)

This purchase information is used solely for app functionality (verifying your subscription and preventing fraud) and aggregate analytics (for example, counting active subscriptions). We do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking, we do not sell it, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Apple's handling of your payment is governed by Apple's privacy policy; RevenueCat's handling is governed by RevenueCat's privacy policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy).

Data stored on your device

Your sound and sleep-timer preferences are stored locally on your device using the system's standard preferences storage. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

Data retention

We hold no personal data to retain. Anonymous purchase records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple as long as needed to service the subscription and meet legal and accounting obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Because we do not collect personal data linked to you, there is typically nothing for us to retrieve or delete — but you can always contact us (below) and we will respond to verified requests within the time required by law. You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any privacy right.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. It contains no user-generated content, messaging, or third-party advertising. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Adults are responsible for supervising any use of the app around children, including safe listening volume (see the Terms of Use health and safety disclaimer).

Security

The little data involved (anonymous purchase validation) is transmitted over encrypted connections by Apple and RevenueCat. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; to the extent permitted by law, we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit risk primarily by not collecting personal data in the first place.

International users

The app is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, the anonymous purchase data described above is processed in the United States and any other locations where Apple and RevenueCat operate.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy at the URL referenced in the app. Material changes will be reflected prominently.
